Photpho pentachloride là hợp chất hóa học có công thức PCl5. Đây là một trong những clorua phosphorus quan trọng nhất, khác là PCl3 và POCl3. PCl5 tìm thấy sử dụng như một chất khử clorua. Nó là chất rắn không màu, nhạy cảm với nước và nhạy cảm với độ ẩm mặc dù các mẫu thương mại có thể có màu vàng và bị ô nhiễm bởi hydrogen chloride.
Natri ethoxide thường được sử dụng trong quá trình ngưng tụ Claisen và tổng hợp ester malonic . Natri ethoxide có thể làm mất vị trí α của phân tử este, tạo thành enolate hoặc phân tử este có thể trải qua quá trình thay thế nucleophilic gọi là transester hóa . Nếu nguyên liệu ban đầu là este ethyl, quá trình este hóa trans không liên quan vì sản phẩm giống hệt với nguyên liệu ban đầu.
