Đồng(II) bromua có thể được điều chế bằng cách khử CuBr2 hoặc CuSO4-NaBr. Nó là tinh thể có màu xám đen dễ tan chảy (khan)/lục đậm (ngậm 4 nước). Đồng(II) bromua rất tan trong nước; tan trong rượu, axeton, amoniac; thực tế không tan trong benzen, ete, axit sunfuric đặc. Nó có hại nếu chẳng may nuốt phải. Nó ảnh hưởng đến hệ thần kinh trung ương, não, mắt, gan và thận. Nó gây kích ứng da, mắt và đường hô hấp.
Kali sunfit (K2SO3) là một hợp chất vô cơ, là muối của cation kali và anion sunfit. Kali sunfit có tác dụng như một phụ gia thực phẩm, được dùng làm chất bảo quản với số E là E225 (Số INS là 225). Nó được sử dụng ở Úc và New Zealand nhưng không được chấp nhận ở EU hoặc Mỹ.
