Aminometan hidroclorua trong một halogen hữu cơ có công thức là CH3NH3Cl, dạng bột rắn, tan được trong nước. Nó là một muối amoni bao gồm metylamin và hidro clorua. Ứng dụng chính của metylamoni halogenua là một thành phần của pin mặt trời tinh thể perovskite .Methylammonium iodua được sử dụng phổ biến hơn do iodua cung cấp khả năng điều chỉnh độ hấp thụ, độ dẫn điện và dải tần rõ ràng.
