a. Xenlulozo có cấu trúc không phân nhánh và không xoắn, còn tinh bột là hỗn hợp của hai polisacarit: amilozo không phân nhánh, không duỗi thẳng mà xoắn thành hình lò xo, mỗi vòng xoắn gồm 8 mắt xích α-glucozo và amilopectin có cấu tạo phân nhánh
b. Sợi bông chủ yếu gồm xenlulozo, có tính chất mềm mại bền chắc hơn sợi mì, miến, bún khô (tinh bột) vì cấu tạo hóa học của chúng khác nhau
