Reaction process Al + Na2O
Process: Mix the aluminum and sodium oxide mixture in a ceramic cup. Then, heat it up at the right temperature.
Note: At high temperatures, aluminum reduces many metal oxides (behind aluminum in the metal reacitvity series) into free metal. This reaction is called the aluminum thermal reaction. Since Na is in front of Al in the metal reacitvity series, this reaction does not occur.
