Natri tetrathionat là muối của natri và tetrathionat có công thức là Na2S4O6.xH2O. Muối thường thu được là dihydrat (x = 2). Nó là một chất rắn không màu, tan trong nước. Natri tetrathionat được tạo thành do quá trình oxy hóa natri thiosunfat (Na2S2O3) bằng iod: 2 Na2S2O3 + I2 → Na2S4O6 + 2 NaI Phản ứng này là cơ sở của phép chuẩn độ iốt.
Ceri oxit là một oxit kim loại có công thức CeO2, có dạng bột màu vàng nhạt. Nó được sử dụng để đánh bóng thủy tinh, lớp phủ cho bộ lọc tia hồng ngoại để ngăn phản xạ, và như một chất oxy hóa và chất xúc tác trong tổng hợp hữu cơ. Ceri oxit được hình thành bởi quá trình nung nóng ceri(III) oxalat hoặc ceri(III) hydroxit. Ngoài ceri(IV) oxit, xeri còn có loại oxit khác là ceri(III) oxit, có công thức hóa học Ce2O3, không ổn định và bị oxy hóa thành ceri(IV) oxit.
