Axit zincic là một hợp chất rắn màu trắng, ít hòa tan trong nước, lưỡng tính, có thể phản ứng với cả axit và bazơ
Thủy ngân(II) iodua là hợp chất vô cơ dạng bột không mùi không vị màu đỏ tươi. Nhạy cảm với ánh sáng. Không hòa tan trong nước và chìm trong nước. Ở nhiệt độ cao sẽ chuyển sang màu vàng nhưng chuyển sang màu đỏ khi làm lạnh. Thủy ngân(II) iodua rất độc. Thủy ngân(II) iodide được sản xuất bằng cách thêm dung dịch nước kali iodide vào dung dịch nước thủy ngân(II) chloride và khuấy đều; thu được chất kết tủa sau đó đem đi lọc, rửa và sấy khô ở 70 ℃. HgCl2 + 2KI → HgI2 + 2KCl
