Substance CrI3 (Crom(III) iodua)

Crom (III) iodua, còn được gọi là crom triiodit, là một hợp chất vô cơ có công thức CrI3. Nó là một chất rắn màu đen được sử dụng để điều chế các crom iodua khác. Crom (III) iodua được điều chế bằng phản ứng trực tiếp của kim loại crom với lượng dư ở 500 ℃: 2Cr + 3I2 → 2CrI3 Ở nhiệt độ phòng, crom (III) iodua ổn định khi tiếp xúc với oxy và độ ẩm, nhưng ở nhiệt độ gần 200 ℃ nó phản ứng với oxy và giải phóng iod. Giống như CrCl3, triodua có độ hòa tan ít trong nước do đặc tính học của Cr (III). Bổ sung một lượng ion crom nhỏ (III) giúp làm tăng quá trình hòa tan.
