Tricrom dicacbua tồn tại dưới dạng chất rắn tinh thể hình thoi màu xám. Nó rất cứng và chống ăn mòn. Nó cũng là một hợp chất chịu lửa nên được sử dụng nhiều như một chất phụ gia cho các hợp kim kim loại. Khi các tinh thể crom cacbua được tích hợp vào bề mặt của kim loại, nó sẽ cải thiện khả năng chống mài mòn và chống ăn mòn của kim loại, đồng thời duy trì các đặc tính này ở nhiệt độ cao.
Photpho pentachloride là hợp chất hóa học có công thức PCl5. Đây là một trong những clorua phosphorus quan trọng nhất, khác là PCl3 và POCl3. PCl5 tìm thấy sử dụng như một chất khử clorua.
