Tricrom dicacbua tồn tại dưới dạng chất rắn tinh thể hình thoi màu xám. Nó rất cứng và chống ăn mòn. Nó cũng là một hợp chất chịu lửa nên được sử dụng nhiều như một chất phụ gia cho các hợp kim kim loại. Khi các tinh thể crom cacbua được tích hợp vào bề mặt của kim loại, nó sẽ cải thiện khả năng chống mài mòn và chống ăn mòn của kim loại, đồng thời duy trì các đặc tính này ở nhiệt độ cao.

Indi(III) oxit có dạng tinh thể màu vàng nhạt-lục, không mùi, không tan trong nước. Nó hòa tan được trong axit, nhưng không hòa tan trong các dung dịch kiềm. Ngoài ra, nó cũng phản ứng với amonia ở nhiệt độ cao, tạo ra hợp chất indi(III) nitrua. Indi(III) oxit bị phân hủy ở 2000 ℃. Khi nung nóng indi(III) oxit đến 700 ℃ tạo ra hợp chất In2O được tạo ra, gọi là indi(I) oxit: In2O3 + 2NH3 → 2InN + 3H2O
