Ceri monosufua là tinh thể rắn màu vàng, có công thức là CeS. Bột ceri monosulfua (CeS) được tổng hợp bằng cách khử bột Ce2S3 với một lượng dư Ce kim loại hoặc thu được từ bột ceria (CeO2) sử dụng khí cacbon đisulfua (CS2).
