Bạc nitrite có nhiều ứng dụng. Các ví dụ đáng chú ý bao gồm: 1. Việc sản xuất các hợp chất anilin. 2. Chất oxy hóa tổng quát. 3. Victor Meyer loại phản ứng thế nucleophin bằng organobromide hoặc organoiodide tạo thành hợp chất nitro. 4. Tổng hợp nitroalkenes với nitryl iodide được tạo ra tại chỗ từ bạc nitrit và iốt nguyên tố.
Cloroform là một chất lỏng, không màu, dễ bay hơi, có mùi giống ete. Trước đây được sử dụng như một chất gây mê dạng hít trong khi phẫu thuật, mục đích sử dụng chính của chloroform ngày nay là trong công nghiệp làm dung môi và sản xuất freon chất làm lạnh. Ngộ độc cấp tính của chloroform dẫn đến suy giảm chức năng gan, rối loạn nhịp tim, buồn nôn và rối loạn chức năng hệ thần kinh trung ương. Là một sản phẩm phụ của quá trình khử trùng bằng clo trong nước, cloroform có thể có một lượng nhỏ trong nước khử trùng bằng clo.
