Bạc nitrite có nhiều ứng dụng. Các ví dụ đáng chú ý bao gồm: 1. Việc sản xuất các hợp chất anilin. 2. Chất oxy hóa tổng quát. 3. Victor Meyer loại phản ứng thế nucleophin bằng organobromide hoặc organoiodide tạo thành hợp chất nitro. 4. Tổng hợp nitroalkenes với nitryl iodide được tạo ra tại chỗ từ bạc nitrit và iốt nguyên tố.
Dùng làm nguyên liệu để điều chế butađien, isobutilen, xăng tổng hợp,... Hỗn hợp B với propan được dùng rộng rãi làm nhiên liệu; là thành phần chủ yếu của khí dầu mỏ hoá lỏng LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas). Ở Việt Nam, LPG bắt đầu được sản xuất từ năm 2000 (tại nhà máy chế biến khí Phú Mỹ, tỉnh Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu) từ khí đồng hành mỏ Bạch Hổ (xt. Khí dầu mỏ); sản lượng LPG năm 2002 khoảng 300 nghìn tấn nhưng vẫn chưa đáp ứng kịp nhu cầu tăng với tốc độ rất nhanh của thị trường trong nước.
