Canxi axetat khan là chất rắn kết tinh màu trắng, hút ẩm, có vị hơi đắng, có thể có mùi của axit axetic nhẹ. Nó thường được sử dụng dưới dạng hidrat để điều trị chứng tăng photphat huyết (dư thừa photphat trong máu) ở những bệnh nhân bị bệnh thận bên cạnh đó nó còn được sử dụng để ngăn ngừa hoặc điều thị sự thiếu hụt canxi. Ngoài ra, nó còn được sử dụng làm phụ gia thực phẩm, làm chất ổn định, chất đệm và chất cô lập.
Bạc (I) sulfate là chất thay thế không đạt tiêu chuẩn cho bạc xyanua trong mạ bạc. Nó cũng được sử dụng trong băng y tế dùng để băng vết thương hở vì bạc là một loại kháng sinh tự nhiên. Bạc (II) sulfate được sử dụng làm chất oxy hóa các chất hữu cơ không bão hòa và các chất thơm.
